Nope, the madness actually gets worse from here on in....

I'm afraid you're quite right with that assessment, Lance!

Today's haul:

Probably my biggest kit purchase ever yet. 3 Phantoms, 7 Tomcats and 2 Crusaders - all in 72nd scale and from Hasegawa (save for the 'saders, which are from Academy).

Got 'em from a nice chap in Italy via the ARC Marketplace.

Got no definite plans as to whif or real world builds yet. Probably a mix of both. Yeah, a healthy mix. That's the way to stay sane. Sane. Errrrr, yes, riiiight.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

So a zwilling Crusader, dreidecker Phantom & siebling () Tomcat???
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Popped into MZ on the way to the pub at lunchtime and picked up a Hobbyboss A-7H. The Greek Tiger Striped boxing. Not my normal subject but the combination of markings and a price discount of £17.99 to £7.99 sealed it  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I have one of these also Chris, very nice kit indeed, shame I won't be using the tiger decals though as they look excellent.

Picked up the re-issued Airfix Buccaneer - nice new decal sheet with RAF Gulf War, RN 809 Sqdn late 70's and SAAF.
Two new sprues with RWR, revised short wingtip, original short pylons, standard plyons, Gulf War Weapons, SAAF extended drop tanks and 4 sets of SNEB (standard 2 row rather than the correct 3 row that we need for Naval aircraft !! :banghead:).

Nice revision on the instructions, the undercarriage and bays have lost the original Hu130 Satin White colour and are now the correct Hu40 Light Admirality Grey colour (although the HU version is Gloss !). Proper decals for the instuments and side consoles although the basic kit remains unchanged.

Bloody Hell Moritz, when are you going to build that lot? :o  For my money the 72nd Hasegawa F-14 and F-4 are the 2 most over-engineered kits I've ever come across.  Why use 1 part when you can have 7? :banghead:

From ebay, a 1/72nd Frog Sea Venom canopy and a Tasman vac-form replacement one. Handy, since I have a Frog Sea Venom with a yellowed canopy and various ideas that might use another such canopy...

From BECC: two 10mm and two 15mm cloth Union Jacks, black vinyl lettering in 2mm, 3mm and 5mm and clear vinyl masking stripes.

Declare it 1/144 scale, take all the warry gunny thingies off, drill windows down each side, paint up the cockpit line an airliner, apply 1950s Lufthansa markings to it and, hey presto, you have an Me737.  And oddly enough, when you scale up the dimensions it ain't far off a Boeing 737.  ;D ;D

DML 1/35 Sherman 76mm (Wet), "Operation Cobra".  Wanted one of these for a couple of years, and the kit includes markings for the Polish 1st Armoured Division

Mini-Art 1/35 British tank crew

Hasegawa 1/72 P-3 Orion "JMSDF new markings".  The new markings are minimalist, over a plain grey camo :banghead:  Thankfully, this is one of those Hasegawa reboxings that includes the decals for the standard boxing!  So thats 3 different full colour JMSDF squadron markings

Now, ever since Sentinel Chicken did the profiles I've wanted to do a JMSDF Viking, so I also got me a Revell (Hasegawa) S-3 Viking :)

Also got a little pair of snips for the boy to use, and some 2mm masking tape.
