Passing through Tamworth so called into Hobbycraft for Gold Paint (Games Workshop) and picked up an Airfix Warspite....just can't get enough!!....and some silver shiny confetti (YES, for modelling purposes!!) and some black/silver ribbon for my waspie.....a sort of "Depraved SS-type" uniform...all black and silver!! ;D

Saw some nice US schemes Mossie, USN test pilots school and some Army ones (civil registrations at the mo) that are in "Enemy" desert schemes for training.
Some more stuff arrived from ebay.
Academy PBY5 Catalina (the yellow wing non-amphibious one and may be done for Talk Like A Pirate Day. Arrrgggh!).
Airfix Gazelle (another blueprint boxing and still sealed, I forgot I'd bid on this one before I got the two off a mate last week!).
Airfix Rotodyne (my 2nd, both will be whiffed when I get round to them).
Bandai 1/35th E.F.G.F. Anti MS Squad set (a couple of figure bits are missing but easily replaced with some Tamiya conversions).
Esci 1/72nd A-4E "Israeli Hot Rod" (still sealed, prob RW Israel)
Also a 1/1 scale XXXL Weyland-Yutani T-Shirt!  ;D

The Wooksta!

Recent acquisitions - even though I have no inclination to build anything, let alone them - have included:

2 AZ Spitfires - the F.XIVe and FR.XVIII
A Model Vampire F6* - although it'll end up as an F.3 as the longer wingtips are moulded in.  Thinking about cross kitting it with a Heller Mistral fuselage pod as an F.4 or possibly a Russian one (they wanted Nene engined Vampires)
A Matchbox Mosquito
2 Ventura Spitfires - an HF.IX and an FR.XVIII
Novo Skua - a pound!
Frog Spitfire F.XIV - I think it could be okay with a new wing and I have plenty of bits lying about.
Airfix Vulcan - built up for the bargaintastic price of a fiver.

And I now have another of my Holy Grails - the Cape Hobby Blohm und Voss P.197.  I've been waiting for a kit of this for 16 years!

*There's a lot about this kit that's nice but in some respects, the Heller one is still superior.  The latter has better wheels, the moulding is crisper and a two piece canopy.  And then there's the price - the A Model kit is £13 or thereabouts whereas you can pick the Heller Vampire up for about a fiver with a bit of searching.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Green Dragon

Got two more delivered from ebay
Airfix Bo105C Got it when I bid 99p on several Bo105's hoping to win one and nobody else bid on it! Think I'm up to 4 or 5 kits plus several built, most of which are overall Humbrol 85 coal black and white number decals with a machine gun on the port side & a 19-round rocket pod starboard.
Revell boxed Monogram HU-16B Albatross. Bought mainly for nostalgia value! My first one was an island hopping smugglers plane, white with a red cheatline. This one may also be fodder for Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Kfir C7....certainly RAF, but needs underwing stores and lots of extras....I have references (and voices!).
Bae Hawk 100....thinking a natural metal single-seater.

Terry
The (supersonic) drop tanks from the Heller MIIIE kit fit the Kfir nicely   - I'm going to do an RAF one aswell, but I'm guessing they wont be in any way similar !

I've got an Italeri Hawk 100 on my Clearance list if you want (yet) another... let me know

Ian, myRAF Kfir will have F-4 Phantom tanks under the wings, plus a host of pylons like the Israelis had. I've not decided on which unit will receive them, but I suspect 4 Sqn might.....or 16 or 17 Sqn.

Dropped the women of the family off (they've gone to London for the day on the train) so dropped in at Hobbycraft:

A set of paintbrushes
Airfix "Warspite"...just finished the second version of the "Warspout" to be painted in RAF Battle Of Britain colours,
so this version is set earlier than my first build, and consequently has a less effective anti-
aircraft system. Starting the new one soon (just glueing the hull/decks together for
the 3rd "incarnation" as an Israeli Leviathan.
1/72nd Airfix Bristol F2B....really dire, I want the fuselage to put floats on. I've got the picture somewhere of it.......off the front of a comic...The Victor? If I find it on t'net, I'll put it up.
2 x Airfix Alphajets....one will be REAL in QuinetiQ markings (provided in the kit)
