Radish

Several Widgeon/Goslings appear in Biggles stories, and I have plans for a number. I built a few centuries ago (it seems).

TAHS this morning.  Went to see if they had any of the Airfix Hawker Seahawk gift sets (but they didn't).  Now at £1.75 (and ashamed to claim my 10% IPMS discount!) I couldn't resist a Maquette MiG-9.  Hilarious!  Now I wasn't expecting much, so when I opened the box, and just like Freddie Mercury once sang.....
FLASH! AH-AAAA!!
But clean that away and it should go together like a FROG kit.  And a good opportunity to practice bare metal shades, masking, etc. Looking forward to it (and as a straight build too).  ;D ;D

From the LHS: Dapol 00/HO (1/76th) Scammell Scarab.........

I believe that is the old Airfix kit at one time, I remember building one for the train set layout we had.

Yes, that's right. Dapol bought Airfix's railway-related moulds in the early '80s when they went bump.

The RAF used them as well, hence the one that now resides in Hendon.

Cheers, didn't know that. That would be this one, I presume?

Yes, as well as the Scarab, Oxford do the earlier Mechanical Horse, which is period for WWII: it wasn't revised into the Scarab until 1949.

The pig swill man used those when I was a kid. A couple of times we were playing hide and seek/cowboys and Indians/War, we'd hide in the bins ! Mum wasn't to happy for some reason.  ;D

Interesting times. We were "green" without thinking about it because the country was skint, wonder if the current circumstances will improve our "green" credentials ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
