Went to Stratford this morning, not having been recently during the day. Found a toy/hobby shop...diecasts, Games Workshop, railways and kits.

Bought an Airfix (ex-Mirage Hobby) 1/400th HMS Montgomery....to be another screw-powered "Fan" Steam Yacht for Rocky Horror theme.

been looking at this one on the shelves at work for a while and finally picked it up yesterday, so I now am the proud owner of a revell Heinkel He 70 blitz, really thinking of entering the Spanish Civil war group build with it.  ;D  ;D

Everything looks better with the addition of British Roundels!

Go for it - loads of potential! Bear in mind that the Condor legion really did use He-70s though, so to be a whiff, you need to do something more to it. How about:

1. Use the Gnome-Rhone engine option and finish it as a captured aircraft re-engined by the Republicans,

2. Fit a Db-601 or other more powerful engine and finish it as a licence-built Nationalist version.

Made another semi-annual voyage to Dean's Hobby Stop in Flushing, MI. today.  Sorta behaved myself:

2 x 1/72 Hasegawa weapons kits
1 x 1/72 Revell CH-54A
1 x 1/72 Pioneer Su-21F
1 x 1/72(-ish) Revell Fairey Rotodyne
1 x 1/600 Airfix HMS Tiger and HMS Daring Combo pack
1 x 1/144 Hobbycraft F/A-19
1 x 1/184 Lindberg "SR-71" (the box art almost makes it look like a combo of the YF-12 and the Mach 3+ Lockheed Pre-ATF drawing)

My buddy Dave made his first sojourn up there ever.  He behaved himself, though almost went hog wild.  He just picked up one kit, a Tamiya 1/32 F-16CJ Block 50 (his holy grail kit).

BTW, it should be noted that I overheard that Dean just bought 4000(yes, 4000) car kits last week.  He had to rent ANOTHER storage unit.  And he was at a show down here in the Metro area today, so his next updated list should be... interesting.

Got a Fujimi Hawk T.1 and a Novo Vickers Vimy from ebay, along with a set of DB resin Merlin nacelles for a Mosquito. Very good prices on all three too.

Sounds good. For attacking blockade runners ? The Revell kit's a preaty good one although I'm told the ICM is superior, as it should be being so much younger.

Always had plans for a Japanese Navy or Army He 70 and a German Val myself. Never got around to them though, one day

Try to keep up Chris, my member title was Sweetie all of last year....  ;D

I remember that (at least I think I do  ;D) but it can always go back and we could call you "rubber sweetie"

Holborn Modelzone last week - Revell (ex-Matchbox) Hawker Fury.  Still a nice kit of a very pretty aeroplane 'let down' (he says, but let's keep it real) by the fact that the very nicely printed '43 Sqn' finish is in fact 1 Sqn!
Not sure whether it will donate parts to a whif (I have the cunning plan, but also a possible alternative to robbing the kit), become a whif (I have something in mind) or will be a straight build (I have an A Model Fury in the stash, you see).
Speaking of A Model, anyone got one of their Vampire F.1s yet?  If so, wha's it like?

It's also three times the price, and IIRC you only get one variant per boxing.
