Moritz, you aren't helping  ;D

One of my many talents!

I s'pose it wont help either if I say Ed's idea of a German Jag is a jolly good one.  Or if I >>LINK<< to Damian's Kiwi Jag profiles.
Cheers,
Moritz

Speaking of Tamiya animals, Hobbycraft are now stocking some of the dinosaurs including the pack of 1/35th raptors: God that was tempting........

From ebay, another pair of bargain buys:

Matchbox 1/72nd Vickers Wellesley (That's not a bomber, it's a glider with an engine!)

Lindberg 1/72nd He-100: unopened! (Well until I got it......)

Got a good few day's ebaying in the other week: the Wellesley, He-100, Nimitz and Boeing Clipper together cost less than £20 including postage....

Another Trumpeter 1/72 J-10S. My Mum placed a bid on a J-10S I was "watching" on eBay. I purchased one directly because I thought it'd be cheaper. In the end, the one my Mum won was cheaper.  ;D So, now I have two!

And from the LHS, I got a Hobby Boss 1/72 F-84E Thunderjet and a set of Trumpeter 1/35 German KSK figures. Not sure whether I'll whif the KSK troopers, but the F-84E will definitely be whiffed. In fact, the wings are all I need. They'll be used with a Tamiya F-84 and will make a nice double-decker. I hope. Decals will be from an Eduard SPAD XIII.
Cheers,
Moritz

The 1/35th Raptors are very tempting for the various "elite" forces that used them, namely:

The SS, Soviet Spezthingy, North Korean....etc...

Today was passing HobbyCraft to collect the Memsahib from school, and added 5 x 1/72nd Italeri Hawk 100s.
I have plans.....

It did occur to me to make the Raptors WWII German as per the famous model, pictures of which are doing the rounds on the internet, and then have an Allied T-Rex going the other way armed with something like a Bofors gun as a rifle.....

I went to ESTEC (the Dutch branch of ESA) last weekend. They have a visitor's centre with some nice exhibits: 1:1 models (in some cases, ground test articles) of various ESA-built satellites, etc. This inspired me to order the Heller Ariane 5/ATV/ISS set, which arrived today. Humongous box (larger than the Airfix 1:72 Nimrod), can't wait to start building it.

My original brainwave was to combine the Ariane with another Ariane 5 to get a heavy launcher, and use the ATV as part of a moon lander. I've since read some more, and even the combo would not have enough payload to launch a lunar mission with, so that idea's back to the drawing board.

I know what you mean, I can understand why they do starter kits, but I wish they'd sell the models seperately as well.  I'd probably have picked up an Airfix Sea Hawk too if it wasn't in the starter kit, although I can wait for the forthcoming HobbyBoss kit.

Paul, I can let you have a Gazelle if you want it?  It's one of the eighties boxings & I think all the parts are there.

Cheers for the offer Mossie but I just scored two from a mate! One is the old Roy Cross boxart and the other is the later blueprint box.

Just arrived...1/72 scale Ta 154 ''4 in 1'' kit and the new 1/72 scale Junkers Ju 88 G-6, both from Hasegawa. The Ju 88 will be built real world but the Ta 154 will be what-if. One thing I don't care for in these Hasegawa Ju 88 kits is the number of parts, there are too many of them for such a small model! The good thing about this new G-6 kit is it has both types of engines included so you could make the G-6 or the earlier G-1.

Also arrived today, more supplies for the new photobases I am building.

Just picked up one of Minicraft's 1/144 B-26B Marauders earlier today at the LHS.  Its the version with "Flak Bait" decals and molded in gray instead of the horrid dark green some of their other bombers are in.  These little kits are usually hit or miss in this scale but this one is VERY nice!  Engraved panel lines, nice clear transparencies, thin props, and accurate gear.  Only cons are there is absolutely NO interior even though you will see a fair amount through the nose and cockpit.  Not sure if I feel like scratch building some basic stuff or just painting the glass blue or black just yet.  Only other things that are missing are the engines.  the nacelles just have a flat piece where the engines would show through.  Even at this scale a simple one could have been included but its no biggie.  I saw in a review a guy took a photo of the proper engine, printed it on some card stock, and cut to fit.  Looked pretty darn good to me!  Think I'll go that route too.  Other than replacing the .50 cal barrels with some rod stock this thing will look very nice OOB.  Can't wait to get to it!

I agree! This is a beautiful little kit and it fits (mostly) like a dream. A few bits have to be replaced (like the side guns) but the plastic is just great to cut. I butchered mine into a high speed recon bomber, but I've been tempted to get another and build as a B-26 (or at least close to one). They're cheap, too.

Just reserved a new resin kit of a 1/700 HMS Leander
