this morning i went to Bredene, to see a new toy store (witch is apparently asking way to much for standard cheap revell kits) an came home with a (decently priced) accademy 1/72 TBF-1 Avenger. ;D
............and a flat tire  >:(
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

i won 3 kits on ebay a few days ago.......from someone who i have bought and collected from before...went to pick them up earlier

all in 1/72
amt f111 ardvark....which shall come in handy
esci f8 crusader
revell f89 scorpian

he said 'are you interested in a Dakota...make me an offer'

so i got an esci ac47 gunship................all 4 kits for 10 quid....result!.

*does happy dance*

we were chatting and he said how he had a shelf full of stuff to send away cos of ebay......on the shelf was a 1/35 Tamiya Demag mit Flak Vierling....the one with the gunners in snow gear......i said it was a shame that that had gone cos i wouldnt have minded it

so he asked if i was into armour....i said i liked it but didnt build it often cos i found that genre hard

so he appeared with a big box and said 'take this.....dont want anything for it.....'er indoors moans every day for me to bin it'

turns out that his dad had died and he had inherited the stash and stuff and was working his way thro it, keeping what he wanted and ebaying what he didnt

in the box was about 30 built 1/35 tanks/spg/trucks etc

just sorted thro the lot.......lots (the top half of the box) are damaged beyond repair, but there is about a dozen that are perfectly ok......................so the scrappers will get broken up for the bits box......of the good ones i shall use a few to practice painting and weathering on since thats something i really really struggle with and is the reason i dont do armour....the remainder i can see getting whiffed into other things

after sorting thro this is whats usable...........about the same ammount again broken up for the bits box

a good afternoon all round, me thinks

One off ebay yesterday, Matchbox Ju188. Said it was mint in box, turned out to be half built with the control column and tail wheel missing! Got it for chopping up anyway but kind of tickedoff! Hopefully going to be a Skycrawler-esque pusher contra-prop.

Mossie, if you still don't need your C-160 parts tell me what you want for them (cash, kits, parts?) sure I can sort something out!

Then popped over to Wakefield and increased the stash again.

Where in Wakefield? I go to "Wakefield Models and Hobbies" they do a fair selection and a lot of railway stuff. Is there anywhere else there?

Also went into MZ in Leeds and got a RevellD 1/144th Alpha Jet. nice little kit.  May be a Wif but not sure what, it's got the parts to make either version althought the kit only has decals for a Patrouille de France plane.

Right how can I put this............
I received a very nice interim payment the other week, and as well as buying stuff I really needed, erm....... I a.... just bought myself an Amodel Beriev Be 200 Flying boat :o
yes it will be the most expensive kit I will ever own and if the missus gets a wiff of the cost of it I will no doubt need it surgically removing, but it was either this or a TU-160 in 1/72nd scale, and the Beriev won, as I have a thing for flying boats.

Popped into a local toyshop today. Seems they had some Revell stuff marked down. Went home with...
another (my 12th!) 1/72 Hawker Hunter FGA.9 - can't possibly ever have too many of those! And a steal at 2.99 EUR.
another (my 3rd) 1/144 Westland Puma in Tigermeet livery - at 1.49 EUR, I just couldn't resist.
a 1/48 Sopwith F.1 Camel - no clue why, really, but was only 1.99 EUR.  ;D

Won't ever understand their mark down policy. Even marked down, some stuff is still above average. And then there's jolly good deals like those above or the 1/48 F-105G at 2.99 EUR I got a while back.
Cheers,
Moritz

We need to see you build some of them!!!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Two 1/144 Trumpeter Tu-16 Badger-G

One of these will be a real world Badger. Possibly an Egyptian Badger if I manage to find decals (or draw some myself) - and scratch-build the AS-5 Kelts  . The other one, hmmm, either real world as well (Soviet) or maybe a Luft'46 build with some mods (green-house canopy (Ju 188-style), different tail, maybe another pair of engines???).

"Build"? Wazzat? Let me grab my thesaurus. *sound-of-turning-pages* Ahh, I see. Assemble, compile, fabricate, knock together ('specially like this one!  ;D), manufacture, model, put together. Sorry, but I thought we were just supposed to collect the colourful boxes and look at the nice papers and plastic thingamabobs inside.
