Today arrived the kits I wanted from the list TOJO posted in the swap shop. These will be my last for a very long time me thinks
Revell 1/72nd scale T-80 with ERA
Plastikovy 1/72nd scale L-29,
Revell 1/72nd scale Mil Mi-28
Hasegawa 1/72nd scale AV-8B Harrier II
Italeri 1/48th scale Stingbat. Not sure what to do with this, it may get scalerama'd into something for SHADO in 1/72nd scale.

SWMBO strongly hinted that she'd break my fingers if I bought that, so I have a really good idea of at least one thing I might be getting under the tree.

Well i got mine direct from Hobbysearch as it takes weeks for these kits to arrive in the UK by conventional means. However it is out in the US, it was shown last week as out on the Dragon USA website and the likes of Spruebrothers.com had them in stock.

Looks a nice kit and certainly quite a size, plus given the 60's fit no doubt they are planning to issue an 80's updated variant later on. Now i wonder if we can convince them, to do an Enterprise in 1/700 to go with these cruisers  ;).

I also picked up a 1/700 HMS Cornwall Batch III Type 22 frigate. This is produced by mountford for Antic in the UK as ready mades or self assembly, but MT minatures also sell them as they are technically the producers retail arm.

Its a little basic and the white metal fitting appear rough and out or scale, but the ship structure is basically sound. So using some of the Pitroad/Dragon sprues from the likes of the Type 42, Type 45 & Invincibles its possible to replace the crap metal bits with more suitable plastic items to produce and acceptable looking model. They also do a Type 23 Frigate in the range along with a Bay class landing ship that does look tasty. Next up is an Albion class LPD which should be a really nice addition to a modern RN collection.

Cheers

That Cornwall has been tempting ever since I saw it.  I think I truly NEED one to fill out my RN and be a complete person, no?
