Cyberhobby 1/700 USS Long Beach

That's out?  I will have to head to one of the last LHS's in my area tomorrow.

Well i got mine direct from Hobbysearch as it takes weeks for these kits to arrive in the UK by conventional means. However it is out in the US, it was shown last week as out on the Dragon USA website and the likes of Spruebrothers.com had them in stock.

Looks a nice kit and certainly quite a size, plus given the 60's fit no doubt they are planning to issue an 80's updated variant later on. Now i wonder if we can convince them, to do an Enterprise in 1/700 to go with these cruisers  ;).

You'd need a Bainbridge and a Truxton to go with them, mind..... ;)

<...> a de boxed 1/72 Ka 50....really dark plastic.....think its also Italeri....!!! Woohoo

Zvezda.  Italeri have reboxed a fair bit of their stuff, as have Revell.

Not this time. They did rebox lots of Zvezda kits, but not in this case. Italeri's 1/72 Ka-50 is from their own tooling. This was also reboxed by Revell - and Zvezda! Zvezda reboxed the Italeri kit before they came up with their own, better tooling. The Italeri and Zvezda tools can easily be told apart by the fuselage. Italeri has a full-length fuselage, while Zvezda's is separated aft of the cockpit. Zvezda went this way to allow for a Ka-52. Italeri's Ka-52 is from their own tooling. Revell's Ka-52 is a reboxing of the (again better) Zvezda kit.

Confused yet? ;D But, wait, there's more.....
Zvezda has two Ka-50 boxes for two-and-a-half different toolings. The basic Ka-50s boxings contain either the Italeri rebox or their own tool. The only way to tell these apart is a remark with something saying "Italeri" on the box, which is the one containing the Italeri kit.
Zvezda's other Ka-50 is a Ka-50Sh, the night-capable version. This includes the complete Zvezda Ka-50 plus an additional sprue containing the night vision mods (which, being based on one of the many mock-ups, are not too accurate).

Some in-box reviews:

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Monogram F-5F.   I'm sure that since MiG could propose swept wings on the MiG-21, it wouldn't be too difficult for Northrop to do the same on the F-5 series.   Or, or, or.

Second delivery today, a truly huge box from PR19 Kit's clearance frenzy, containing a brace of Airfix's finest (or not!) - a Mosquito NF and a Defiant.

You think yours was huge???

You should see some of the others that have left here in the last few days!  :o

I'm starting to tun into a serious box shortage problem now, and Mrs PR19 is engaged on a 'box reclamation mission' around her friends and shops in the town, naturally she knows EVERyone here!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

From an ebayer called "kit rescue", they were packed extremely well, though postage costs were a bit on the high side (I didn't notice until after winning the auction).

Name rings a bell, I think she turns up at shows ?

A unit of air mobile Meerkats?  Or a sinister project to meld the two species together?  Winged Meerkats?
