Oh, & I think you should add into the rules that any photos of completed builds should be accompanied with the ubiquitous small coin to be eligible  ;D (which I neglected for my Hornet)!

Actually, as we all use different currencies, coins aren't so good as we don't all know what size our respective nations' coins are.

I'd suggest something a bit more universally known alongside the finished model. Perhaps a #11 knife blade or a standard wooden safety match.

Sorry everyone, but here I go showing my age again.

The correct title for this thread should be "The Ittsy Bittsy, Teewny Weeny, Yellow Polka Dot.............."

You certainly did, and photos should be sent to RADISH!, but no one else please.

Spoilsport!   ;D -_-

Bags of scope in this idea, I still have some of the Kellogg's cornflake free airliner models from way back when, and they are in the 1/3-400 scale range. Also built this one, but it's just outside the fuse length criteria. Does it have to be a Whiff or can it be RW as well?

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

<MODE = PEDANT>

There are two arguments against this:

1. Those are the words of the song. This thread is not the song. This is a forum thread with a title that evokes the song, but it is not the song.

2. It's my thread, and I say the title is right....  ;D

Plus, Timmy Mallet covered it, you don't want to invoke that demon....
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

God no not him..........met him once at a re-enactment event !!.......Story is long but involves him using that sad hammer on all the lads in the group as they came off the battlefield, I asked him to stop, he refused so i told him i was going to put the poleaxe in my hands up a body part of his sideways if he didn't go away at once  ;D  ;D ( note these are not the exact words i used ) and let my lads get a drink of water. He and his little entourage surprisingly left the scene .

I HATE the man.

Weaver,
I am still a little confused over scales/size.

We have numerous builders here who normally build aircraft in 1/144th scale and armor in 1/72nd.  So I think that we need to go smaller in both these cases.

Also, in Sci Fi, the average Gundam is 1/144th scale.  Capital ships are very popular in 1/1000, 1/1400 and 1/2500 scales with most of these coming in below 10 inches in length.  Most sci-fi fighters are 72nd or larger.

And what about autos?  While 1/24-1/25th scales are the norm, there are plenty of kits in 32nd, 48th and 43rd scale that I would still classify as regular scales for autos.

I just don't have a good idea on where you draw the limit per type and what does that leave left to build?  For aircraft, I have seen great things done with 1/350th and 1/700rd scale and wouldn't mind attempting something in 350th.

I'm in for 1/144.  And it could have the polka-dots!

The Rat

I think 1/144th should be the largest, or even the lower limit of the unacceptable range (therefore 1/145th would be the upper limit). And I agree with the idea about a maximum overall size. My Revell Tradewinds are 1/166th, but are waaaaaay larger than any 1/72nd fighter, so working on them isn't that hard. I think I'll challenge myself with something smaller.

I like that idea! (Rushes for his 2 inch Deutsch Ost Afrika coin...) ;D

Here is a 1/285th scale one I saw today at Hyperscale.

Nah, that's a four times full size Humbrol tinlet I'm sure.
