Okay, Bri has kindly set up a forum ready to start on Monday 21st December 2009 & finishes Sunday 21st March 2010 (winter solstice to spring equinox in the northern hemisphere), in fact, this thread now lives in it!

Ladies & Gentlemen, start your engines.... :tank:

Right here Terry.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Robert beat me to it!  You've got two months Terry & lets face it, when has there not been an extension for a GB???
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Radish

Two months, eh.....right, thinking cap on and I'll let you know!!

Wonderful model, does it have a detailed bomb bay???

It's because I lead a pure and spotless life, and remember she's a model and photographer that works out of Milan and London, but returns to Tamworth on occasion. She has a younger sister too..... ;D

Thinking, at the moment, a "Snow Hawk".......Airfix 1/48th......possibly, or not. :drink:

After much mulling around, it's most likely to be a "Snow Falcon FGR 4" of 74 Sqn, RAF.
I've got it sorted in my mind, and I'm using the 1/48th F-16B/D kit, suitably modified to RAF configuration....

Yeah, yeah, ok.
A friend who's made the kit, says it's fine except that the u/c tends to collapse after a while due to the weight of it all. My kit will be heavier still due to the mods requiered to turn it into a full spec RAF version, fully armed  of course. I could do it "flying" but I want it on the ground, so I'll strengthen the u/c with some judicious application of Super Glue.
Of course, the kit is ideal for whiffers as it looks good, despite some differences from reality, builds quickly and is cheap. I've built the single-seat version several times...as a drone, and also as a Dominican AF example. I think the latter is still around, but the drone is bust, but will be replaced later with a superior version!

Meanwhile......

The scenario is the German-led NATO force invasion of Romania in 1990, after the Romanian Government of Stalinist hard-liners was replaced by a Fascist regime in 1989. The RAF contributed 74 Sqn as part of the air deployment it made. The invasion didn't stop at Romania, though, as in 1989, not only the Warsaw Pact dissolved, but so did the Soviet Union, and therefore NATO moved eastwards to secure security (and oil/gas!!) on it's eastern frontier.
