I am taking a whack at webbing and am struggling with my club's website. Please offer thoughts and opinions please. I started with precious little source material and I don't want to go commercial with it.

Any how, please take a peek.

Looks like a good start to me!

I'm looking at it with IE8 on WinXP, thru a 8meg connection on a 19" screen at 1024x768. I'd like to suggest the following ideas, if I may

In the Gallery section try and fix the picture sizes a little smaller, they were auto-resized for my screen as they were too big. If your locale has slow internet connection dial-up users may find them hard to upload.

Reviews: This is a personal thing but I find it irritating to read text that spreads itself around pictures in odd ways, like the last couple of lines.

Apart from that, keep up the great work!

I looked at it with Firefox 3.5, and I agree with Nick's comments. Also, the web page fails markup validation (good HTML syntax), which may cause an issue with some browsers. You can check the page with this online validator: http://validator.w3.org/

A fairly good, free HTML editor is http://kompozer.net/
It also allows you to validate a page against the site above (although I think the code in the software is broken)

A good page with a ton of free web design tutorials is http://www.w3schools.com/

Also, a free javascript and CSS package to display images in a window (called Lightbox) can be found at http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/
It can be customized.

I've been struggling with a 2003 release of Frontpage. I work for the local school board and it's the only software they will support in the sense of offering training and providing me with software. I wouldn't know an easy software package to use for web layut if it came up and offered me a rum and coke and a PBJ!

I tried using the unfriendly software in Mac ( I run Mac at home,) but every time I put it up on the PC screen weired things happened to the layout. Same when the situation was reversed. So I decided that since most of the rest of the world was PC based... well.

Then I got all screwed up with resolution and what size to make the pages. My work desktop, 950 pixels across was perfect, but my film editing laptop (wide screen) was and still is a disaster regarding centering things and the like. It took two months of on again off again heavy duty swearing and giving up to run to the local booze shop for another bottle of Lambs!

Now I ever considered how screwy the big pictures would make things. There was the nifty auto thumbnail doo-hicky but getting the resoultion right and a photo that was focused... well doggie!

Thanks guys and please feel free to every one to give me this kind of feed back. I'll try something else with the kit review stuff. I hated like hell doing the thing. I am very not qualified to review kits but I couldn't get anyone from the club to do a danged thing. That text wrapy thing will be done away with on the next go around!
