By the way, the overall "theme" for SMW10 at Telford is "The Battle of Britain" so a contribution would be appropriate, especially as some will appreciate the humour and numpties will be annoyed...

Hopefully things will be sorted out enough career-wise/house-wise, etc. so that this GB could be joined up to and get something done.  



It'll clearly have to be the 1/48 Hurricane with spatted fixed gear, cloth wings, automotive headlamps for landing lights, two blade prop, etc.   Alternative RAF markings that are not roundels, D or E pattern upper surfaces.


Perhaps the Germans could have also used some Japanese aircraft.  Ki-27 modifications anybody?

Lots of blplane possibilities....Gladiator, Hs 123, Cr42...

The Lithuanians actually built as Fokker D.VII as late as 1937.

RAF units with Hawk IIs....a strong possibilty, as well as Luftwaffe Dive Bomber Hawk IIs.

Hampden night fighter (instead of Blenheim, early Beaufighters and Boston/Havoc) - if the Germans could adapt bombers to the night fighting role, why not the Brits (especially in the case of the Hampden).
Kestrel-engined Gladiator.  With spats!
A Mercury-engined Gloster fighter 'inspired' by the Gloster G38.
A Heyford development (but not the gunship as already suggested).
All in the 2010 master plan!

Notwithstanding earlier suggestions for the SMW2010 SIG display theme, should BoB70 be the plan?

EDIT: And I'm kind of toying with the idea of a 1940 war-bond, morale raising Hurricane I-equipped Red Arrows idea.  Paint job based on the Red Arrows Hawk scheme, but with 1940-style roundels with an RAF badge worked into it somehow (probably on the undersides).  To keep it feasible I think the back story would have to see a strict limit on the number of Hurricanes used (probably 4) and they'd have to be pretty tired machines (ex-Battle of France?) to be diverted away from the front line.
