I'd like this mind-force dream, thanks for it. Alas, thes pods are made to adapt on the big leading edge of the wing, and putting them elsewhere would be a tremendous work... I am a what-ifer, yes, but hard-work still frightens me a little. Sorry...

Ah yes, I see that now.

You're right, putting them anywhere else would require serious surgery and LOTS of PSR work, no  fun at all.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Very interesting. Would not be better engines like pusher propeller?. And a configuration as a big floatplane (like The Dornier Do-X), as the draft transatlantic flights of thirties?.
Excuse me for my dare.
Daring is the principle of what-ifing... (no offense) ;D
Yes, as a passenger aircraft, it could be a useful floatplane or ekranoplan, but my J.1001 will just be an object, a desk model not intended to fly. There will be neither pusher propellers nor tractors, something as a dreamy glider principle... Thanks for your finding a possible use of it ;D

Tophe, mon ami, you are the Alexander Calder of Whiff-World!

Tomorrow, all will be dry, ready for the last gluing (black canopy).
Well, I remember the pilot's 1/72 "size" in many models and this does not fit. Rather 1/100, like Heller models did. So... maybe I will add black square windows in the wing section and the booms/fuselages. I will see tomorrow.

Thanks Brian to compare me with a famous artist. The main difference may be that I do not pretend at all that "my creations embody 'objective beauty' and are worth $ millions", no... I am just having fun, all alone, and if my crazy models provide a smile to fellow friends, crazy differently, I am happy...
Well, Brian, you are very true on an accusation that Calder could have received like me: "there is no use of this! it cannot be used at all!". Yes, just fun  ;D

Nice one Tophe.  ;D

I can just imagine it 'flying' across the Channel toward Southampton at an altitude of around 20 ft, magic!

Nice finish, mon ami! I really like how your tinted canopies work with the minimalist color schemes. If you ask me, this one's the money shot:

You should have your own "wing" at the Museum of Modern Art!

NARSES2

I can imagine that in some "futuristic" 1950's 1960's movie. Great stuff Tophe
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
