PC-6 Turbo Porter: the PC-7 is the tandem basic trainer.

Very welcome kit, I just hope it prompts someone to do one in 1/72nd.

I might be being blind, but I can't find any of those side-firing guns on the sprue shots......

Hiplanes does four in 1/72:

My prayers have been answered:
New tool Mirage IIIE/O in 1/72!

Laurent on ARC (CLICK) found out on a French website (CLICK) that High Planes will release a newly tooled Mirage III from high pressure moulds. Test shots in two or three months!

More infos (as my French is lacking, I'll re-post what Laurent said).
- E/O, R, non-Belgian 5 noses will be injected plastic. The other noses will be in resin.
- separate fin (because of the fin extension)
- Doppler radar bulge is a separate part
- two different types of landing gear doors
- separate rear-under fuselage coaming
- three types of underwing fuel tanks
- two types of canards
Steve want to offer the same versions he's currently selling. He has not decided yet how the small parts (antennas, etc) will be represented and has been made aware of this topic.

I'm so excited!
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Saw this on Britmodeller earlier today, really excellent news! Hope he sells truck loads and does the whole family.

High Planes Models has a new owner

Below is the press release announcing the change of hands of High Planes Models:

QuoteHigh Planes Models Change of Ownership
Singapore, Friday 8 Apr 2011 —

We are pleased to announce that the High Planes Models brand and products has been acquired by HPM Hobbies. For the last 20 years, High Planes Models has been recognised as the producer of highly accurate limited run kits covering a wide range of aviation subjects. The business will be moved to Singapore which will bring High Planes closer to customers throughout the world.

HPM Hobbies owner, Christopher Brown - : "High Planes Models has a deserved reputation for producing accurate models that appeal to experienced enthusiasts. It has great potential and we are looking forward to developing the brand further. I am pleased that the founders will still be involved to help with product development and to see through existing projects to release."

The process is underway to move the marketing, distribution and production to new premises. So there is minimal disruption to customers, retail and trade orders will continue to be supplied from Australia until the new operation is ready. Ordering information is available on our website at http://www.hiplanes.com.

New products this year from High Planes will include a new tool 1:72 Dassault Mirage III/V family produced in partnership with PJ Productions of Belgium. 3D design is complete and the tooling design is in progress. We expect to release the first kits in the middle of this year.

I would like congratulate Christopher for taking on HPM and all the AMI crew wish him good luck in his new business. But we must not forget Steve Mandich as the one who brought us this great company to start with, we also wish him good luck in his future endevours and hope to see him at some future model shows now he can have a little more spare time in his life.

Regards,

Greg

Just got confirmation from Hiplanes and their new owner.   He is hoping to continue and add more items to the line.  If you email him (if anybody wants Christopher Brown's email, PM me) he'll add you to his email list.

Any ideas where he's based as the new owner post appears to indicate relocation away from Oz ?.

Singapore.  The original statement wasn't clear where the owner was based, merely that production would be moved away from Oz.   He lives in Singapore as well.

Here's something with Whiif potential: a Beaufighter Mk.V with the 4-gun turret:

See the Alley Cat thread for Merlin and twin-tail Beau conversions.

What would be nice is to see Alley Cat do the Griffon engine nacelles too ---- combine the twin-tail, turret and Griffons and you'd get a really cool whiff (I think though I'd go with a remote turret and place it further back to counter some weight issues)

How about two Centaurus, as per the Brigand?
