Started an Airfix Nelson, also on skis.
This'll be an Angleland Navy ship devoted to convoy protection because of her low speed compared to the enemy Hun ships.
The full "background story" will appear in a subsequent newsletter.

The hull is together, along with the majority of the superstructure.
The skis need making of course, and some butchery will be required with the strutting of these :banghead:
The engine exhausts have been sourced and come from a 1/48th Harrier kit....they fit either side of the rear hull.
I have numerous additions to make, but these are mostly minor. As with the former Bismarck, the absence of any attacking aircraft (this world flies low-powered cumbersome ornithopters) negates the need for masses of anti-aircraft guns. This is a bonus as they spoil the appearance of the ship with all their fiddly bits, but also means I can add lots of other stuff if I want. Boats on this ice planet are also redundant due to survival being dependent on tents rather than boats (which can't sink due to the extremely low temperatures and extremely thick ice!)

Looking good.
It was to be a grey shade, but I'll start with all white and "develop" the scheme....

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I just need to make the skis later today and then I can spray. Pictures on Monday most likely, but it could be Tuesday as I'm busy in school on Monday.

Err why go you prime your pictures with white?? Is this some strange custom as yet unheard of by the rest of humanity?

This would explain why I see no pictures, only white.

Radish my friend, you are the #1 tease of Whiffdom. Because of you, I may have to take my frustrations out on yet another fine model kit.      ;)

Crop it, resize it, change the default size on your camera (I had that problem when I got a new one as well) or alternatively....

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thank you, my friend....creative painting begins tomorrow. Whereas the "Bismarck" was splintery, the Nelson will be wavy.

Thinking a Sunset scheme...different?

Over the white primer, I've applied washes of Games Workshop Tentacle Pink and Liche Purple.
These have subsequently been drybrushed with white.
Then curly patterns of Sunburst Yellow, Warlock Purple, Tentacle Pink and Liche Purple have been added. Just a single coat....I'll touch up and add another coat later.
Then it'll be weathering (extensive) and some drybrushing to tone things down.
The exhausts with be brown with brass and silver highlighting.

The "reason" for the sunset colours is the lighting conditions in the southern oceans of Aegir.
All to be explained in a subsequent article for the newsletter....soon.
