I'm really looking forward to this, I just love these French 1930's designs and of course the Soviet's looked at Payen type designs. It must be something in the water  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I wondered how long that would take............  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Beautiful planes are french! (Amiot 143, for example...ugh!)

How appropriate that the early equivalent of a "lifting body"-type aircraft actually is intended to "lift bodies"!!

Re: Unicraft molds. Seems one could carve the shape out of Swiss Cheese and have a better mold (certainly it would GROW better mold!!) than Unicraft's.  I laud the effort, though.

Maybe the aircraft could be a M*A*S*H STOL battlefield ambulance! Make it white and put a big red cross on the side!
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

The 2 mold halves full with dissolved plastic (with cellulosic thinner, very good for health :banghead:)

The mold is open. I think it's possible to do better!

Whoops.  :banghead: Coat the next mold with Future, white glue, etc as a release agent. Use the same putty as you used for the mold for the cast.
I amuse me.

I will try again with a silicon mold and resin.

This is truly hard work... With such difficulty, you will deserve a gold medal at least if you succeed...
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

I have found silicone and resin to cast a new engine:

Yes, that Siligum stuff works very well, our local art shop stocks it, and I've made quite a few moulds to replace missing and short moulded parts in the last few months. Well recommended.

I've made 2 molds, 1 for the Salmson 9Nd and 1 for the Gnôme-Rhône 9Akx (I need 2 engines of this type for my next project).

CAO, Silicone is the way to go for a mold. What did you use for the original mold?
