I had an idea lately that the EH-101 could do good service as a UH-101 or CH-101, similar to the Super Puma & Mi-8/17, in service with army aviation forces.

The RAF Merlins are used pretty much like that now, or were anyway. Apparently the Navy are having them, perhaps to replace the 'Commando' Sea Kings. In which case they'd STILL be doing the same kind of job...  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

in Belgium, when the tender was out to replace our older Seakings and Allouette III's, the Merlin was one of favorites in the competion and was definitly the only good contender in 2003, however, when Belgium bought 2 ex-dutch M-frigates in 2005, it was seen that the EH101 was to big for the ships, and then they made up the story that the Merlins were to big for the hangars in Koksijde as well (witch is impossible as the Merlins have stayed in Koksijde before)

instead the Merlin was moved to runner-up and the NH90 was selected.
back then in 2003, Belgium had the intention of buying up to 18 or 22 merlins for 2 squadrons, now were gonna get just 10 NH90 (4TTH & 4NFH + 2TTH's options to be firmed once budget is available)

the Merlin was my personal favorite aswell, would have been nice to see Belgian SAR merlins

CH-101 already exists :)

A suggest:

;D

Just to be a JMN for a few seconds   ;D

Merlin rotor blades don't droop along their length when at rest, there's lots of photos which show this.

Mind you if your profile is of one flying, they should be bending in the other direction (which they do)

Maybe you could do a set of 'Crowsnest' concepts of the Merlin AEW for the Royal Navy.

Off to google 'crownest EH-101'......

OK I'm back !

Didn't know it was called that ! Not a big fan of the revised proposal. I guess it would make more sense with existing RN airframes tho....the Vigilance pod also looks pretty neat !

Robert ( Kitnut ) did an AEW version awhile ago that was pretty unique.
