Aye, that's one of Greydeath's. Nice bloke. :) The Work In Progress forum has some really cool stuff on it. A lot of annoying kids, but then the games are targeted at that market. There's a core of really nice people, though. One of the outstanding works is this:

Fitmanb was one of the most prolific and talented members of WIP. Unfortunately he left the hobby and the site last year. :(

Whoa! :o The Dora is about as "4ok-ish" as it gets in the real world.
Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

In that "Dora" thread, there were several posts by a "Lt. Walke".  He did a whole series of 40K vehicles patterned after real world armor, but based on the Leman Russ tank chassis.

It hasn't been updated since 2007, but there are a few neat projects.

This guy has a lot of different stuff on his website.  Make sure you check out the Titans and Vehicles section.

He also has other stuff on his site including a 3 foot long Serenity made out of card and plastic.  I just might have to give that one a go.

Eddy Kruk and I were discussing this one at the club tonight and decided that a steam powered Victorian viaduct layer would be a good project to try.

Interesting - I have a plan for a WWI bridge layer based on the Airfix Mk I tank and the bridge of the Churchill Bridgelayer. All part of a proposed "Plan 1919" build
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Check out this 40K warlord Titan that this french dude is building!

This is hands down the best Titan scratch build I have seen in recent memory. Most people give it a valiant effort, but they always look out of scale, the legs are to short or the body is to squat.

This guy's is spot on.

That's looking good.  The Warlord is the largest Imperial Titan that I like.  I think the 'walking cathedrals' like the Imperator class are a bit silly, I think GW goes a little bit over the top on the gothic theme with Imperial & Space Marine forces sometimes.

If I had a spare bit of cash I'd plump for a Forgeworld Warhound or even a Reaver Titan.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I would grab one of the Baneblades if I had the cash.  Just a big, hulking tank.

One day I want to do a Steam Tank 40K...... that one I am interested in doing plastic/resin/metal......

(Current planned configuration: a mixture of Forge World Hellhound and Games Workshop Steam Tank parts.  Turret may have a lascannon...... a Leman Russ turret might be too large, otherwise a Conqueror or Stygies VIII Vanquisher turret would be cool......)
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

Current Hobby Priority...... Sigh......
