Now I think to have reach the 70/80% of the target I would to reach at the beginning of the painting.

Now will aplly the decals and will left for last job the painting of metallic areas on the tail zone.

This week finally choose which decals to apply.

These decals are sold inside the ESCI 1/48 kit for the F-4J Black Bunny.

The colors on the decals from the box are completely of fantasy  so they are perfect to be applied to the my whatif!

This is the situation:

Hope of to be able to complete the kit in the next month. (Hope).

Fantasy?? Can't have any of THAT on this site!!   ;D
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

The Phantom is a very nice plane, but your plane is as nice as the original.

That is one fine paintjob....I've tried but I can never get that sort of effect.

A little disaster is happened this afternoon:

This disaster is  happened with the T-Tailed Phantom  the past year ever in the last stages of the building.
Today is happened the same thing.

The old decals sealed by a pair of layers of Gunze Clear have been eradicated from the Tamiya Tape applied over them.

Please take note that I have reduced the adhesivity of the Tamiya tape considerably: this has proved of not to be sufficient.

Oh no.  I know how you feel.  Did you coat your completed decals with Future?  The sadly ironic thing is that this would be a perfect effect for a heavily weathered aircraft.

Today will do a look inside the kit's boxes in the stash, I need another white Phantom serial....

The problem happen with the too much old decals: the ESCI decals from the eighties are totally rigid, not one  kind of decals liquid system work on them.
I must launch them from the window.

Actually, this gives a "Well-used" look . . .

Just my opinion, though!

Just a word:   COMPLETED.
Eight months of work and this is the result:

There was a surprise (for me): after the masking tape removal the front windshield show signs of dust indide him left from the paint removal process.....Every time the transaprent parts are a source of trouble.

That looks amazing.  You did a fantastic job on that.

This is a simply brilliant record of a brilliant build. For all the things that went wrong and were over come you have inspired. Standing alone, your 'toom will confuse a great number of Mac Air fans. In the end, the build was a thing of art. Now all you need is a  back story and a hero to pilot your beautiful creation into the mythology of MacDonnell Douglas' Ghosts.
