Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hmmm, putting the main wheels inside the belly tank? Now there's an idea............  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I've got this scale-a-rama idea for a Super Lightning, with four engines, Basically it would look a bit like the engine nacelles on the later Avro 730. My plan is to put the landing gear in the belly too ---
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Lightning/Mirage2000 scale-o-rama

Single chin intake...

and two side intakes.

Tophe

Lovely Lightning T.2000
with a F-16 touch somehow
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Dizzyfugu

Well, with that low chin intake PLUS the front wheel to kick anything loose in the aircraft's way up I would not give this design a long operational life...

Dang! I was just about to write about FOD (Foreign Object Debris - is that the right term?) and you beat me to it. They'd have to go down the MiG-29 route of doors that closed the intake whilst taxiing + auxiliary intake doors
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

What if Mirages never happened...
