My rough guesstimate is that you're about right, Jschmus, but I haven't worked out yet what makes this thing go once it gets airborne!

That's easy. It's held aloft solely by the crew's suspension of disbelief, though it occasionally suffers from a loss when viewed from the surface, as when a crowd of people go "I don't f***ing believe it!"
