It looks neat except the inner to outer nacalles aren't far enough apart, the props will hit each other

AH, but the outer nacelles are positioned about one foot behind the inner ones , so no problem.

also, as I understand it, a standard Mossie (later marks?) could hit a target at the same range with the same amount bombs as a Lancaster could. All using 2 less engines and a lot less in the way of crew, materials etc... surely less is more...?

Nah! The Lancs props do not overlap, whereas that Mossie's do.

... the turbulence created in that lay-out would cause a terrible, & probably fatal, vibration problem.
