Thanks Again, everyone. It looks like members of this group comb a variety of scale models web sites and blogs to bring What-if's here. There is a BBS for 1/144th scale modelmakers at - http://www.kampfgruppe144.com/phpBB3/index.php. The group site has a What-if topics area, quite a few Small-Scale entries there, a few of mine also.  :mellow:

and he is having a similar problem joining here,...just got a pm from him........every time he tries to register he gets a 'Sorry, registration is currently disabled' message  :angry:..................anyone got an idea whats causing it?

I think you'll find the Aussie bird Ben posted is a F/A-18E Super Hornet rather than the AF-18A in the picture of the 'real thing'.  The LERX on the model looks quite different to that of the photo which, in planform, is one of the real differences betwixt the two types.

Therein lies the whif and quite a subtle one when viewed from some angles.
