So, both of my completed Whiffs have been published on ARC under the Silly Week.  Today, I recieved the following email.

Dear sir,
I am writing an article, which deals with the first israeli jet fighters. By chance I visited http://arcmodeler.com/Gal4/3101-3200/Gal3110_S-92_Peterson/00.shtm and was astonished to read that the israelis had in fact received S-92 jet fighters from Czechoslovakia.Could you please mention the source of this information?
Best regards,
(name withheld)

After the initial sly smile, I emailed him and advised him about Silly Week (which is noted just below the title on ARC) and let him off the hook gracefully but, of course, I have to share.

Didn't that happen to someone here a few years ago - put some pics of a whiff plane (Italian tri-motor jet I think) online with a good back story, and found that it appeared in a book some years later?
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

It happened to Alvis when he made his Fortcaster years ago. Check out the April 2002 chapter on this page.

SILLY WEEK NEWBIE! SILLY WEEK NEWBIE!  ;D  It runs at least the entire first week of each new year, and the one Phil was referring to was back in '05.

I particularly like the bit about aircraft modellers having a "twisted sense of reality"  ;D
