Single Tornado over London

Was killing time before a meeting in Barnet yesterday, being a bit sad, I was watching for anything interesting on the ECML when I saw some landing lights heading directly toward me from the northeast. Curious, (nothing usually comes from that direction) I waited for it to get closer.

The noise first alerted me that this was no ordinary civil aircraft and suddenly it dawned on me it was a Tornado (GR.4 I think)! It went right over my head and could be heard for about a minute after disappearing from sight.

It was going slow (250kts over built up areas?) and heading south-west-ish. Does anyone know what it was up to?

Suffice to say it made my day!
