Joyless Modelling Nazi, those who try to infect our models with realism, poor fools..........  -_-
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Then one I mocked up a few years ago at a job I had involving implementing a new accounts package for a major UK retailer. There were a number of problems (mainly with senior management setting a wholly unreasonable timetable for training and implementation), but also with certain team members who fondly believed that the old, utterly outdated accounts system was the greatest thing since Elvis on toast, who never missed an opportunity to lament "Why can't we have the old system back, it was so much better!"

This is a great one!

It reminds me of an actual employer I used to have in Canada. They needed to update their computers desperately, but didn't realise that. Even when they started losing customers because the customers would bring in work in formats that the aged computers couldn't support or interact with.

I remember saying to the boss that we're losing customers to the competition because the competiton upgraded their systems regularly, like the customers did, but we weren't. To which he said "If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Our computers work just fine". Yeah, they worked just fine; for the era they were built and the available technology of that era! :banghead:

The next place I worked had an actual "demotivational" poster on a wall that had a picture of the Running of the Bulls in Spain, with the caption underneath that read "Tradition, just because you've always done it that way doesn't mean it isn't increadibly stupid."

If only I could have shown that poster to my previous employer.....
