I was looking for a Lego asymmetric aircraft but I found none, so I built it!
I know the Lego toys are not scale models but... the Lightning historic twin-boomer has been turned Lego,
see http://www.mechanizedbrick.com/mode1s/p38_lightning.jpg
and http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/mikepsiaki/WWII/P-38/ver2/lightning-01.jpg
and http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/mikepsiaki/WWII/P-38/p-38-02.jpg
Then I have ordered a twin-boom aircraft lego (for building a Lego Bv-141) and you will see the result.

First I have built straight from the box the "normal" twin-boomer: Lego #6341 Reporter aircraft (to check if there was no missing part)

Then I have turned it asymmetric

Then I have turned it even more asymmetric, Bv-141 like, so this is a scale model somehow, not pure fantasy: a biplane touristic Bv-141... (what-if).

Now, the goal has been matched. I will transform it again, because this huge span is far too much for my shelves. I will see.

You should've bought 2 Tophe, then you could've had a zwilling :D

Nev,

The very LAST thing Tophe needs is persuading!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

If you PM me your Email, I may scan and send you the instructions (to build as expected, less what-if)...

Reducing span means there is no room enough to have the propeller beside the pod, so back to pusher, reduced span now.
The chronology is:
1/ Lego-6341 Reporter, symmetric, what-if as non existing scale 1
2/ Lego-341 Pusher (normal span pusher), asymmetric, further what-if
3/ Lego-141 Blohmer (tractor), asymmetric, less what-if as related to Bv-141
4/ Lego-241 Toffer (reduced span pusher), asymmetric, fully what-if
On the 241, even the wheels are asymmetric...: ;D

That has always been the great thing about Lego.  If you don't have the room, or someone else compels you to discard it, then all one needs is to disassemble the model into its component bricks and put them back in the box (or drawer, bag or whatever).

Mine all went into the 'spare bitz box'. Lego is amazing stuff. My kids will have some if it has to be bought from antique shops :)

Yes, this span is still too wide for the little room I have, so... it needed to be disassembled into something smaller...

So here is the tiny-span Lego-441: (final I hope)
