Test & Experimental GB

I was thinking that having a Test, Evaluation and Experimental Group Build would be interesting.  It would be for any vehicle built or used for testing, evaluation, or experimentation.  Obviously, the X-planes could have a lot of new variants and lots of One-of's.  And bright color schemes would be appropriate, including Raspberry Ripple or Fanta Can, as well as lots of calibration schemes.  And not just a/c.  You could modify a battleship into the test vehicle for carrying & firing a "Dora" railgun.  Or something like the USNavy Sea Shadow that was intended as a stealth ship test bed.   Anyone else think this idea would work.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Sounds good to me! I have a few ideas, and one build in progress, for this theme. :)
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Brillo!

Love that idea Ed, what's the next step?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The prototype Canberra, no....not the real one, was rather attractive they say.

Yeah, the real one would have been pretty awesome as well if they'd let Frank Lloyd Wright design the buildings as well as the street plan and parks. The panoramic sketches where great...
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

I'd be in as well!

Got a Super Hornet and decals for a planned VX-9 "Vandy-1" all-black Super Hornet.
Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Hmm - got two off-the-pending-shelf ideas that would work for that. I might also end up with a "stripped" warship, so I could always put containers and shelters all over it and claim it as a trials ship...

Yeah, like this idea, it's one I've been thinking about proposing but never got around to.  I've had an idea for a Rasperry Ripple-predating 1960's (the 'anything goes' period where their aircraft wore highly individual schemes) A&AEE scheme on a Hawker P.1083.  I was thinking of entering that into the 1 week GB, but I might be able to find something else for that...

I started a thread just over a year ago to try & find some inspiration for my idea, could serve as an 'inspiration' thread for this GB?

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Is this GB likely to go ahead? Please. Pretty Please.

Makes me think of doing a two seat Panther in Raspberry Ripple.

Since they just changed the Dalek on Dr Who do we have to change ours? I hope not  :dalek:

I'm giving this one a little prod as I think it's well worth a GB.  Some old profiles of mine:

I think I'd be honor bound to try and build the successor to the USS Eldridge.

With even bigger and more visible generators of course.
