A very odd Want

Ok,
I need a plastic grasshopper for a Humor idea.  Yep, you heard me correctly, grasshopper.  Preferable something in the 6 inch long variety.  Also would rather have a hard plastic version, not some rubbery thing or that soft stuff.

Hawk made a kit many moons ago called Pedro the Grasshopper (I could not make this up).  I actually saw one at the Nats in '07 but the guy wanted $50 for it so I passed.  Not worth that much for what I have planned for it.  Have been trying to find something at the Natural History Museums but no luck there.  And I am not interested in the cutaway Cricket that comes with several other insects.  I need the whole bug and it has to be a grasshopper, not a Mantis, Scorpian or Tarantula (and yes, I have all 3 of those kits).

So if anybody can point me to a site that has something I might be able to use, I will be greatly appreciative.

Heller used to do some insect kits, but I am not sure what the range involved... migth have been a grasshopper...
Usually I'd recommend Schliech - they are slighlty squishy but not badly, take paint well and have excellent detail... problem is they do not do insects.
Would a real giant grasshopper be anygood?
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Real wouldn't work, at least, I don't want to deal with it.

Heller made several bugs, an ant, and several beetles including this one my then 9 year old daughter won with at the same 07 Nats.

But no grasshoppers.  I have seen several toy insects but not a Grasshopper.

Philip:

You could try http://www.tapirback.com/tapirgal/gifts/friends/insects/grasshopper-plastic-f1661.htm - 3 inch grasshopper

or at http://www.props4shows.co.uk/fake_insects_and_butterflies/1014_20c.html - 35cm Grasshopper (quite huge really, http://www.props4shows.co.uk/fake_insects_and_butterflies/giant_grasshopper_-_35cm_long/24287_p.html ) and what looks like a more modest monster at 20cm (closer to 6 inches, possibly close to 9 or so, http://www.props4shows.co.uk/fake_insects_and_butterflies/grasshopper/27518_p.html ).

Hope this helps.

They will probably require some modification but hey, was gonna happen anyway yeah?

MM, seen that first one and think he is that soft plastic i don't want to deal with.  The other 2 may be too big and not enough detail for me.  Yes, I will be modifying bits of him but was only thinking one of the front legs and maybe the 2 back ones, not all four small ones.  Also, the 35cm works out to over a foot and that is too big.  The 20cm one is much closer to the size I was thinking about.  Probably something in the 10-20 cm would work.  Will keep it in mind but wonder what it is made of.

Weaver, that little guy is a little too small but the detail looks OK.  Also wonder what he is made of.

Thanks for looking guys, that is 3 I never saw in my searches.
