Under statement of the day.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

I DO like the idea of the Sytian one with Israeli kill markings....

Don't beat about the bush Lancer, tell us what you REALLY think.  ;D

OH YES  :o
One of those will be bought for sure, just hope it goes together better than their Mig-23UB, I am currently doing battle with. It would make a nice addition to the Cartel airforce with a brace of R-77's on it

Chris RV have now added the UB to their Mig-23 family which might be the better kit for a nice Mig-23 two seater

BTW Th ArtModel Mig-E8 is out now in the Ukraine as at ModelsUA.com

How about Chinese PLAAF,as either a copy,as part of their Airgaurd J-7 family or if you cross-kit with a Mig-23 it might look something like the J-9

May I just say, mine is on its way  ;D
Mig-23 UB has some bad fitment issues, which fortunately I think I have managed to bodge out. The Exhaust nozzle which is in resin is way too wide to fit in the fuselage, even after taking a few milimetres of the nozzle and the inside of the fuselage. This resulted in the fuselage being split and splayed open so as to get it all to go together, there was a gap of about 3 mm either side, and no way could I have took any more out of the nozzle or the fuselage. That RV kit is well over double what I paid for the Art model kit, so I won't be bothering with that one. Mine will be rearmed from the weapons stash as the included missiles are garbage. Just to kick it down some more, the tail wings need pinning as there is no slots lugs or anything, fuselage has no locating pins either, so lots of clamps lacky bands tape and plastic weld are a must. Only used a bit of puty on the tail fin so far, so not all bad.

I'd suggest PLAF.  I was recently looking at the history of PLAF fighters and there are several which the Ye8 would be a close match to, particularly if the canards are located further back, behind the cockpite with a slightly lengthened fuselage.

Su-25UTG in 1/72nd. Not sure, but I think this might be the only 2-seater Frogfoot in 1/72nd?

No i think Zvezda did the two seater Frogfoot as they also did the Su-39 where the back seat became avionics.

These Artmodel versions however are a different, the first was the simplified trainer and this one is the Naval Carrier capable trainer

Zvezda only has the Su-39, but with a solid "rear cockpit" (making it very hard to do a twin-seater). I think Cooperativa (and some Moldovan outfit, I think) had the only straight-from-the-box Su-25UB/UBK so far, but it was rather basic.

I've got ArtModel's Su-25UB/UBK (released between the Su-28 and the Su-25UTG). It looks pretty good in the box. Finally a decent Frogfoot in the One True ScaleTM:bow: I just hope they'll also do the single-seater at some point, as all other Frogfoots have certain defects.

Moritz

I have 2 made by I think Kopro, one built (in the Cartel trainers with teeth builds) and one in the stash. Not too hard a build and they look the part too. Also a fraction of the price of the Art model kit. If the mig-23 UB is anything to go by , it will be quite an awkward build, and have very soft detail. The resin cockpit and exhaust nozzles are a nice touch though.

Hmmm, I don't know. I've got a Mastercraft re-pop of the Kopro single-seater kit and every time I open the kit to look at it, I close the lid right away. Just about non-existent detail, raised panel lines, trenches separating fixed from moving section on the wings, raised detail, loads of flash, renowned to be a putty hog and a wonky nose (the nose also being the deal-breaker on the Italeri job). Nah, I'd rather take one ArtModel kit over three from Kopro.
Cheers,
Moritz
