Here are some pictures of an unknown  Soviet aircraft. Believed to be a long range interceptor, the aircraft carries 6 pylons, 2 under fuselage, and 4 under the wing roots, plus one eye witness says there is a centreline fitting for a fuel tank or recon pod. Very little is known about this aircraft, or its development, but it is theorised that it was built during the late 1960's early 70's. What is significant is the fact that it has a variable geometry wing, and shows some design traits from both Tupolev and Sukhoi. More information will be added to this report as and when it is made available.

Brilliant.  Love the scalearama idea.  Good camo too.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

So what have you used there?  Looks like part of a Su-15 (1/48?) and a Tu-22M (1/72?).

Thanks for the comments guys,  ;D
The build is the front half of a PM model SU-21 2 seater in 1/72nd scale, and the rest is a 1/144th scale Minicraft TU-22. The landing gear is from the SU-21 just to keep it in scale, and the pylons are spare Soviet aircraft ones. I have some missiles to go on it, but I am still in the process of painting them, and the bulge underneath needs a couple of gun barrels poking out of it.

Chris.

Having been in contact while you were building this thing, the final appearance is just spectacular, mate.  She's a real piece of work indeed, and came out good at the finish - Very nicely done!  The camo is pretty damn spectacular, and much like what I'm used to seeing out of you.  The whole thing looks good together, the blend of the Backfire and Flagon.  Very nice piece of work indeed.

So many spys of the whole free world were looking for the missing link between the Sukhoy and Tupolev family... you found it! What's its name (in Russian)? Supolev? (in French sounding like "milk soup") or Tukhoy or else?

I have to say that this is a very nice kit bash!

Like others have said the camo job is sublime. Very soviet and very convincing!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Come to think of it, if you tried to force Tupolev and Sukhoi to work together, all you'd probably achieve is the Soviet Union's first matter/anti-matter explosion....
