Even with the distractions a little work gets done on the big project. Still have lots of seam work and some scribing to do on the fuselage and am working on the wings when I get tired of sanding but definite forward progress being made. I've also test fit most of the remaining vac clear parts and have only minor fit adjustment to make on them.

nice fit on that dorsal piece... Those kits should be fun too

Been following this on Finescale as I would like to do a 72nd scale version.

And I can't believe you didn't get the extra decal sheets with those distractions.  I almost grabbed the Viper at the LHS last weekend but left in on the shelf and the next two guys took both kits  :banghead:.  I really would like to get the 72nd versions but they are twice the price of this kit

Sadly the decals were not available at the shop I got these from. I do have a resin Black Sun Mk VII viper also that someday will be built and lite.

Three more of these to do, those little wires get to a headache after a while.

All four engines done and ready to install. That took most of the day.

Color me awestruck yet again.

Wow, looking great already, can't wait to see to the finished article!  Oh, & lookig forward to the distractions too!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

One flap is complete and work is moving ahead on the front top turret.

I formed shell bags from aluminum foil then filled them with resin. Once mostly set they were then sculpted to the desired shape. The gunner stand is my own resin cast piece, the central ammo box is from sheet plastic, the O2 bottle is another of my resin castings and the O2 hose is guitar wire.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thank you, the point of speechlessness is praise enough.

I love the idea that this giant honking B-17 is an "escort fighter"  Too cool
