Planning something similar with some B-50's in 1/72nd someday but this is a cheapy test run in 1/144th scale to see if it's feasible.
The raw materials.

First cut & paste session.

Rough tape up.

good idea, I like this   ;D

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

a 6-engined canard B-29? Wonderful!

I like the idea, and it looks like you are on your way with construction.
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

I've gone brain dead, but someone on the forum has an avatar which shows something like that.

EDIT:

Just found it, it's Jon;

Vickers C bomber, I think? It's on the cover of BSP 1.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Glad you like it so far, many thanks!
Been after a Vickers Type C for many years but couldn't source suitable parts (was thinking maybe Frog/Revell Shackletons coz the engines look like the ones on Tony Buttler's British Secret Projects book) so decided to do something with easily found (cheap!) Minicraft 1/144th B-29's for the test run and Academy 1/72nd B-50's (got 3 cheap from Dave T on Britmodeller) if I get round to the big one. Also bought some KC-97's and Stratocruisers in both scales for a similar cargo plane.

The fuselage aft of the cockpit section will be widened for extra bomb bay size and should give me eight gun turret positions. Main landing gear will be converted to 4-wheel units. Currently trying to decide on twin or single tailfin, leaning towards shortened twin fins faired into the middle or inboard engine nacelles and keep the gun positions so I get double rear firepower!

Jon's idea is a reversed B-36 (which I quite like) and I've plans to do the Vickers Type C too, in 1/72. I've found that the fuselage is not much different to a B-52 but the wings would have to be scratch built, for the canards I will use some Wimpy wings.  The version I want to build has four 4-wheel trucks and I've discovered the 4-wheel truck off the Valiant B.2 looks remarkably similar.

Never thought of the B-52 fuselage Kitnut, very good idea! I've got an AMT G or H version in the stash with a cracked windshield panel (that put me off building it for some reason!) so I could use it as a donor.

I like this concept.  Should make an interesting competitor to the B-36.
