Yes, I know. I mis-spoke. I really meant that they had the heavy armament SIMILARLY clustered in the front half of the ship.  I think that "ABC" configuration could be similarly applied to both, regardless of where the conning tower was. I think the "break" between the first and last letters of the alphabet is mid-ship to describe the gun postitions. I don't really know how the old WWI-era battleships with "wing" turrets would be alphabetically described--maybe "M" and "N"?
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

IIRC the designation would be ABQ - they used P and Q for the centerlined midships mounts, if I recall, and the end turrets are X and Y.
Putty-fu, Scratch-jutsu and Bash-chi, the sacred martial arts of the What-If. Mastering them, is Ancient Chinese Secret.

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

I think HMS Nelson was a great looking lump of steel. She was different, but different in a good way.
