Instead of a high visibility US NAVY CAG bird, why not a TOPGUN/STRIKE Aggressor bird?  Decals do exist for those too.  Now if you are going CAG, I suppose VF-111 SUNDOWNERS would be a natural choice given those huge tailplanes.  Maybe that sharkmouth that the F-14 had too?
Canting the tailplanes slightly outward wouldn't look out of place on that bird.

Hey ... how could I've missed that !!???

What a brilliant idea ... and now take the F-15's intakes and put them together like North American Rockwell NR-335 (F-X) ... or maybe even better like for the Rockwell VFX !

Sweet looking idea, Eddie - at it again with your sledgehammer I see.  Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Yes, I do remember this. I was in that GB with him, though he didn't finish in time.. Your idea reminded me of this and that I had wanted to steal his idea. ;D

Alas, I have failed to move futher on this one. I've been mezmerized by my CH-53E and have been working on it almost exclusively. I'm dreading the PSR on this one, but I'll at least knock out the putty that's there now and see if I can get some forward progress.

Howdy Folks!
Haven't been getting a lot of modeling done lately and I've been jumping from project and this one caught my eyerecently. The intakes tripped me up pretty good because I was trying to be clever. Sometimes it take me a minute to remember that I'm better at simple solutions. Keep It Simple Stupid. That being the case, I dug up some goodies from a box Jeffry sent me. I'm using the canards off of some aircraft to make the intakes. Adding some bits and pieces to the vertical stabs and using ther burner cans from a F-14D.
