Hey Guys, just wondering if Anyone has Used Stencils like you get @ an Office Supply Store to Recreate or Create Numbers like you'd see on Fighter Planes,Bombers,Etc.? want to know because i'm thinking if i Don't get Decals, i might use some Stencils to Paint my own Numbers on like a Mig-29,Etc. in my Stash. Thanks for looking.Dan

In larger scales, I think that would be plausible for things like Bort numbers and other large letters/numbers. In smaller scales, and for other markings like serial codes, maintenance stencils etc. I think you'd struggle to get stencils small enough. Maybe some etched brass or laser-cut ones would work...?
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

You can get self-adhesive vinyl lettering down to 2mm size from BECC as an alternative. Mind you, at that size, it's not much easier to handle than waterslide decals.

Dare I mention this, check out a model railroad shop.  Admittedly, many are going away like the LHS, but I know they're still very popular in certain parts of the US.  They have all kinds of dry transfers for numbers & letters in various fonts & colors for marking box cars & what not.
