Hi folks,

It seems to me that the Korean War is the forgotten war, both in terms of real life mentions and modelling.  What say we change that with a Korean War themed GB?

One idea I already have been toying with for some time now is a RAAF Beaufighter in action as a night interdictor during the war.  What other ideas do you have?

I'd also be willing to expand the theme to a Korean War II (although technically the first is still underway).

Regards,

Greg

Which means whiff-inna-box potntial if you can get hold of any of the old MASH licensced kits!
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

I would like that very much.  Think sticking to 1950-1953 would be best.

I'm down!  I've got a few Korean era aircraft in the stash that need to be whiffed

RAF Lincolns over Pyongyang? With Hornet escorts of course. -_-...
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

This sounds like another GB to go for. I'm in. Not just planes either, have a couple of ideas for tanks as well.

I've got more ship ideas for this era than anything else!  If we do this that will be my entry for sure.

HLJ was having a crazy sale some years back and a Tamiya Beaufighter wound up crating its way across the Pacific to our doorstep with the purpose of being build up as a USMC bird in overall Gloss Sea Blue.    I think the kit was $10US + shipping at the time.   The Blue Beau has had a soft spot in my heart for a decade or more.

If you could work out how to make one (not as easy as it looks), then I've always thought a P.1052 (swept-wing Sea Hawk) would have been ideal for Korea: they nearly put it into emergency production in '48 due to the Berlin crisis. Of course, in whiff-world, you could always modify the design a bit......
