See you found an aircraft without one of Ron's "Don't Tread on Me" stickers.... ;D

Nice one. The young'un's face in that Canberra reminds me of my friend Lisa's face as she sat squashed in the Vulcan cockpit at woodford being told about taking off with an eye-patch on so when you were blinded in that eye you could switch over.....

The Aeropark and the Airport share a perimiter fence so your perhaps 150 yds from the runway  ;D  ;D

Aeropark website states 170m from runway edge.

Newark Air Musuem has a Vulcan that you can get in usually for 50p

The number of ti mes I've been that close to it and gone past it!!!!  I guess that means a special trip is in order sometime later this summer.

been a lot of problems with all older aircraft during the last year or so due to the small amount of Radioactive material in some of the older cockpit equipment, many are on longer able to be opened to the public as they are considered radiation risks. You cannot believe it can you, another instance of the nanny state knows best  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

Why don't they take the 'dangerous' instruments out and replace them with dummies?

And how come the great majority of the crews who flew them are still alive? They should have died ages ago if it was that dangerous..... <Sigh>

I wonder how the people who make up these regulations cross the road, perhaps they wait till the small hours and then have an armed escort.....
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

If they did that then (and this bit i kid you not is what they where told ) they become responcable for the correct disposal of the " Radioactive waste ", which is extremely expensive and damm stupid,  you just wouldn't believe the crapness they have been through.

So, if the aircraft are 'radio-active', why aren't they glowing in the dark?  ;D
