I've been working on my alternate history and I have a nice little Falklands scenario worked into it.  A Combined USN/RN task force goes down there complete with some whiffed amphibs and battleships   I worked the invasion into a larger war scenario in South America hence a larger, NATO force, instead of just the Brits.

I'll definitely join in this build when the time comes.  I'll be able to clear the bench by then and start on the amphib group.

How about a "Star Wars" version with the British Royal Alliance ;D fighting against the Argentine Intergalatic Empire over the Falklands planet/system.
hmmm... British Mon Calamari warships v. Argentine Star Destroyers,
British X-wings & Y-wings v. Argentine Tie Fighters/Interceptors,
Argentine Tie Bombers firing Proton Missiles,
Argentine Stormtroopers,
A British Millenium Falcon destroying a Argentine Super Star Destroyer(General Belgrano 2?) with a proton torpedo....

etc, etc.

Erm didn't you notice the Imperial Navy was British, the Emporer, the High Command, the Admirals and the commanders

Proof if ever it was needed that all Imperial star destroyer's were designed and built on the clyde. LOL
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Then again the Brits sold 2 type 42 destroyers in RL, so a couple Star Destroyers in Argentine service is still possible.

I'd be up for this! Now, I know I've got time to think of ideas but....

How about a Super Sea Vixen - Sparrow armed, thin winged,
or a modified HMS Vanguard (23) going down there,
or a massive diorama of a 1970s war - Ark, Eagle and Victorious and escorts going south to kick some Argie butt...
or my fav - HMS Vicky gets repaired after her minor fire, last until 1982 as she was in good condition and along with Hermes takes a compliment of Spey engined F-8s to get down and dirty with the Mirages.

Hmmm...

Hopefully you have sourced some Sea Eagles for your Viking to carry.

 - a Sea Eagle armed Viking would look great!

HMS BULWARK was reportedly examined for re-activation, but was in poor shape.  Perhaps if she were in better shape and things went on a little longer.....hmmmm......

I already did a re-worked ATLANTIC CONVEYOR under the scenario of the war going inot October 1982, but have all sorts of ideas.

We got two years to plan for this one.  2012 should be an entertaining year all around.

Hmm - pretend it's the anniversary of a Falkland's War that happened much earlier, say multiples of 30 years:

120th anniversary: 1892
90th anniversary: 1922
60th anniversary: 1952

Army of One

Just to get something clear......will this be what can be used/in service upto the conflict in 1982.....or is it another round....and anything upto present day can be used....?......H

Upto whoever writes the eventual GB rules, basically. As I see it, the best options are either:

a) limit it strictly to "realistic" 1982 could-have-been whiffs,

or

b) make it wide open for anything: 1882, 2052, anything in between.

Any attempt to set a half-way-house set of rules would open to endless interpretation and debate.

Situation normal then?  ;D ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
