Hi there!
Does anyone have a kit of a Hawker Siddeley 748 Andover, or do you know where I could get one from?  Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks guys - just discovered I need 1/72 scale for this.  And the Rugrat resin one is about £100!!

kitnut617

I agree, the prices that Hannants are charging for Aircraft in Miniature (RugRats is a brand of AiM) is bordering on the ridiculous, the DC-10 I bought a few years ago (maybe about 10) was only GBP 60.00, it is now GBP 200.00.  I know inflation has gone up during that time, but not this much.

Re: Avro 748

There was a vacform of the 748 but that tends to be rather popular when they pop up on ebay occeasionally.

Re AIM

Thats the prices they are charging for them now, wats left of their production is now limited to just a few updated kits of their former range and charge through the nose for them as a result

If you don't need one with a ramp, maybe you could use a YS-11 to approximate one?

deathjester

Great - what's a YS-11?  And yes, it needs a ramp!  (ho hum)

Mossie

NAMC YS-11, Japanese aircraft that's very similar to the HS 748.  Same size, powerplant & role led to them looking very similar, no relation between the two aircraft though.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Green Dragon

Bandai's 1/72nd YS-11 pops up on ebay occasionally usually expensive but not as much as Rug Rat's 748. Almost got one from ebay France last month but got called away from the PC just as it was finishing and got sniped! Think it went for less than £30 inc post.
