I only use the spraying technique for either primer or a silver finish, or a single colour finish (sometimes) and use a rattle can of car paint from Halfords.
Everrything else is done with a brush.

For many years I've been a real fan of friend (and fellow Stafford IPMS member) Richard Howden's hand-painting technique and style, and have recently enjoyed using it on some battleship/Leviathan models.

It involves thinning the paint (in my case with water) to a milky consistency, and applying several  layers to build up colour density.
I add to this with drybrushing, detailed painting, more drybrushing, etc.....

The resulting examples will be on display at Coventry/Warks Show on Sunday 27th June at Coventry MAM, and the following week at the Staffordshire Moorlands inaugural Show on July 4th.

Hopefully there'll be a Hawk there too.
Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....
