Elegant Phantom 1/48

Today afternoon applied to the Elegant Pgantom all the control surfaces:

On the wing to fuselage assembly applied a homemade retention system:



After a pair of hours of work the Elegant Phantom appear in this way now:

I wasn't so sure how this would look, but now that I see the wings and fins on there my heart is aflutter!

Currently working to put together the Phantom's nose.

The Phantom nose is now completely assembled:



but it need some modifications before of the installation on the F-15 fuselage.
This is the more dangerous part of the work.
Everytime I misalign the two units, it's a tradition.

Absolutely NOT: the ESCI-Italeri F-4J have the ENGRAVED panel lines.
In certain places where I applied to much force with the sanding stick I need to deeper a little the line but notning more.

Today I was able to glue  the nose to the fuselage.

Looking at my preliminary design and at the size of the two pieces I tried to find a point of contact and then I've cut the fuselage of the F-15.





The bonding phase has passed away quickly and without problems.

On top of the fuselage (in the point of contact of the two parts) has formed a very bad step. With super glue and a piece of plasticard I corrected this step.
The result is not as good as I wanted it but the step is near the zone of the air brake and I wish not to damage that area.

Now I have to fix the area lower and the air intakes.

Glued the air intakes on the F-15 fuselage.

But looking from the rear it remember vaguely a F-15:

The Phantom Eagle is almost ready for the first coat of primer, then finally we can see the true aspect of the model.
