The Wooksta!

I've got the kit chosen, a back story considered and a scheme already worked out.
But what is it?

It's German but in RAF markings.  And I will say nowt else.

You could have a Luftwaffe aircraft flown by a renegade French unit?

No, already got the kit dug out - it's part started - and I know exactly what scheme it's going to end up in.

Morane-Saulnier MS.500 Criquet (aka Fi-156 Storch) as captured and used by the RAF (eg, like the one used by Harry Broadhurts, Johnie Johnson and indeed RAE Farnborough)?

That's real world and therefore doesn't count.  I'll post some pics later of what it is.

Not suggesting painting it up like any of the three examples.  would be a whif if you did it in an AOP Dk Earth/Dk Green camo finish, though (eg, Auster AOP4).

You're not building a Phantom, are you?   ;D

There's more likelihood of me building real world Vichy.

That'll be never then.

Got some ideas, but it's your model, scenario, etc., and am looking forward to it.

Okay, I've teased you lot long enough.  ;D  Time to put you out of your misery.  Here's what I'll be building - an Arado Ar 96B.

The Germans - quite rightly - didn't trust the French to build anything worthwhile, as frontline types can be sabotaged on the production line by surly French workers (and that's just the ordinary ones who get paid, let alone the slave workers overseen by glorious SS troops)  and they didn't want their 109s falling out of the skies killing the oh so brave Luftwaffe pilots.  So, production of second line types, such as transports like the Ju 52/3m and trainers and communication types like the Ar 96, Bf 108 and Si 204 was entrusted to the French.

So, a Luftwaffe aircraft manufactured in France.  I think that fits the rules.

The contents of the box. Typically, I've doubled and trebled up.  This one contains a pair of KP Avia C2Bs, these being the Czech built Ar 96B. All three are part started.  If my memory is correct, I had some mad idea to do them in Isreali markings.  Obviously, they're on hold and have been for some time.

As these are produced by the Czechs, they need not concern us.  However, as an aside, the second photo shows the minimal work I did in the cockpit to tart it up a bit.

And this is how far it got before it was abandoned sometime in March 2007.

Geoff

You know when you've abandoned a project?! Oi!!

The Wooksta!

I'm assuming March 2007 as I'd got the bug to do Luftwaffe stuff in Isreali markings in early 2007.  Had to be then.
