About 3:20 yesterday I'd just escorted my yr 7 english class back from the library to thier home room, when one of the boys (dunno which) let fly with what could only be described as the vengence of a very anrgy old testemant god. So I opened a window. Unfortunately, my finger got in the way and I spent the rest of the day hopping around the room with my finger in my mouth gasping. Strangely engouh, some of the kids didn't even realise I was in pain...

Having ice packed, had a little cry and a good night's sleep, I can report it's not life threatening, but it's whiff threatening. It doesn't hurt much anymore unless I touch it or put preassure on it, which can be a porblem when trying to build a model. I'm perservering anyway, but if everything falls apart and my porject is not finished, we all know what to blame.

And now the more cheerful and interesting parts:
One: The Kit In Question:

Two: The handycap. It looks worse in person.

That's the hardest to achieve photo I've taken for the web. Have you ever tried using an FS 5700 left handed?

Three: No more of this getting side tracked man! Back to the model!

Four: Using Blu Tac (no really! It's blu tack brand!) to get a rough idea of the positions of wheels

Five: How it all stands now. I've chopped down the fuselage and used the mighty dremel to shape the curves around where the rear wheels will go. I've also started filling in the cockpit area (my cockpit will be further back) and building the transmission case which will stick out the front. The radiator is from a russian jeep thingee. GAZ57 or 67 or something. Tamiya kit.

I should be able to get major body shaping done over the weekend. The front suspension will porbably be the biggest issue.
I did have a name for this, but that was when I was going to use a P47, and it doesn't fit the shape of this one anymore. It was a nice round fat barrel sort of name. This needs a faster pointier name...

Hi Pudding Wrestler,

It isn't that I don't like the fabulous Mustang, but should't one use the Spitfire?

Sorry, but I don't know how to  get the pics in, this one's my first reply (f...... newbies)!

But as I we say in Northern Germany: Better a good copy than a bad invention, so go on with this,
guess it will turn out great!

1)  Last summer Nicklas Lidstrom had emergency surgery to (quite literally) save his testicles.  He was back playing 3 days later, and that was only the Stanley Cup final - this is the 1 Week Group Build!

2)  Cool idea

Why? I never build anything stock, and even when I scratchbuild, I never build the same as anyother man. If I wanted to slavishly copy the talon, I'd buy the kit and the parts used to modify it. As it is I have neither the money nor the inclination. I merely use it as inspiration.

It's not a tricycle anymore and it's progressively looking less and less like a mustang...

Yesterday was spent building the rear differential, mofifying the wing stubs and building the new rear section/crew compartment, as well as sanding things back and adding the cylinder head bulges to the body. I'll stick pics up tonight, I forgot. (Got heavily side tracked by the sudden blinding flash fo inspiration that is 'My First Underhive' and the new Eagle Shaped Architecture Style)

And now for an update!
Sunday morning: blanking off the cockpit completed, notch cut in rear fuselage for new upper works. Front diff cover and rear differential completed. Plastic strips glued along fuselage to accept cylinder head covers.

Monday afternoon: wing parts added. New upper fuselage added. Cylinder head covers added. Additional blanking plate glued over lower section of nose due to wing having more depth. Rather a lot of putty added.

Monday evening: Putty sanded back. More putty added. Front diff and radiator glued in place. Rear axel mounted to diff (not installed yet, held in with blu tack for this picture). Wing stubs shaped and capped. Various gubbins to go in front of wing stubs partly assembled (not shown in this pic)
Yet more putty added.

By the way, I think it's french now, but I am not sure. Especially since I don't think I have any french decals.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
