Started futzing with it yesterday, after about three hours total the wing is in the state seen in the photo.
No idea on any possible mods or paint schemes, although a natural metal with big red areas fictional propaganda bird
has a certain appeal. ;)

So far I haven't found the assembly to be as dire as stated by some. True its fiddly, however that is why I chose to build it.
I've not done much in terms of modelling or art for the past few months (for a number of reasons) and I needed a
hand-eye coordination challenge.  ;D

the Finns did capture one example almost intact (possible TB-1 code?) but the Winter War ended before any decision was made as to its fate, definately would be a different 'almost was' im guessing the standard 'splinter type' camouflage as used on Lagg fighters and other ex Soviet equipment would have been applied if seen service
perhaps one of our prolific profilers on here could offer up some suggestions as to how different schemes might look, another idea could be the 2 browns 'steppes scheme' as used on a few fighter types and SB. bombers during the period

cheers, joe

I did not remember what a Tupolev TB-3 was looking like.
I found this http://www.internetmodeler.com/2002/october/aviation/TB3.htm
Well, from this 4-engine tractive plane, will you dare making a simple twin-engine? very what-if, one of its kind...
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]
