1/48 PCF swift boat question

I've taken on an informal sort of commission to build one of the 1/48 Revell swift boat models for a Vietnam vet.  I'm looking for some 1/48 naval accessories, like fittings, ladders, etc. . .  Just wondering if one of you fellers have build one of these things, and if you have some pointers or suggestions.  I'm really hoping I can find some resin/photoetch I can adapt to this sucker, to really give it that extra punch.  I'm not afraid to scratch most of it, I just don't wanna. . .
