Here's my build of the new Airfix Hurri IIc - a superb little kit IMO. Paints are Citadel, decals are a combination of the kit ones and Modeldecal. Hope you like!

Pretty Hurricane.
If there had been no war, this would have been possible!

Retro-tastic!    Silver Hurri's are good.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thanks guys. I thought it was quite striking. :) Have to do something similar with the rest of the sheet now - possibly a Meteor in 87 Sqn Gladiator markings? ;D

I was just wondering what time frame a "pre war scheme" meteor would be in ? If camoflage hadn't come in during 1938 does that mean there was no WWII ? If so when did the RAF get Meteors...1960 ? Just wondering aloud how far aircraft dvelopment was accelerated by WWII.

Nice paint job, how did you find the use of the citadel metallics, I always felt they gave an unsatisfactory finish when used on large flat surfaces?

pyro-manic

Nah, I like 'em. Use a little bit of thinner (I use Tamiya) and don't be stingy, and it goes on quite nicely. Plus a good primer coat, and a light wash over the top gives them quite a nice depth. You're not going to get a super mirror finish from them, but then nothing short of Alclad will do that anyway.

Chris: I'd say maybe mid-late 50s? Maybe the Pioneer gets into service first, and the Meatbox is a heavy fighter follow-on?

I agree with Alun about Citadel Metallics.  I just dip my brush in a 50/50 mix of water/cheap screen wash & wipe off the excess before dipping it in the paint.  I find sometimes that a second coat tends to 'snag' as you draw the brush across it, but if you put a thin coat of Klear on it goes on beautifully.
