Hello!

Here is my first scratchbuild project-a BOLO tank NIKE from a David Weber book "Bolo!". During construction I was using styrene sheets and some parts from old models. To make a commander of NIKE I took one of the Fujimi 1:350 japan sailors. The tracks are made from...I don't know how to say it properly in english...metal belts from handwatches...I used 8 of them  -_- they're pretty cheap but looking good  ;D base is made from wood. The water is some kind of plastic. Grass is made by Faller and sand is...sand ;D glued to base with WIKOL (polish wood glue). Hope you'll like it  -_-

Here are the photos of finished model:

WHOA!  What an entrance!

Some excellent found-object modelling there: I can see all sorts of clever use of stuff. Using expanding watch-straps as tracks is genius!

My thoughts exactly ...great entrance
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Massively cool! I'd like to try building one and display it going up a mountain, but my to do list is too long already. I love the Bolo stories and your build doesthem justice.

I have only just seen this, and I am in total amazement, this is and excellent piece of kit, and the watch strap tracks are a brilliant idea. I fancy a crack at one of these in 1/72nd scale.
Cheers, and welcome to the show

Nice idea mate - just bear in mind that the Bolo you've just looked at would be about eighty-six metres long at 1:1 scale....so in 1:72, it'll be about the size of the average sofa!  (why do you think mine is 1:288 scale !)

You could always tell the missus it's a mobile coffee table....

I have a seven foot long car roof box in the back garden, that would make a good hull wouldn't you think??
