I'm toying with clearing the shelves of Airfix Spitfires...

I thought you already had...........  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The Wooksta!

It was conditional on the outcome of Friday...

I also need a new toolbox.  A big one.

I have just taken advantage of said sale.  Friday's outcome was just what I wanted.  :drink:

Whatever happened on Friday, it seems to have been a "good thing". Congratulations on it, whatever it was! We can all look forward now to a sumptuous superfluity of Supermarine!

The Wooksta!

Probably not this year.  Kind of lost the Spitfire bug in amongst everything that's happened.

With MZ's impending demise I popped down to our local Hobbycraft this am. Not to far out of town (2 stops on the tram). Good selection of Airfix, fair selection of Revell and a smattering of others, inc. Tamiya. Full range of Humbrol and Revell paints, glues etc and a good selection of tools. So it will do for the replenishment of essentials. Interested to see how long it takes to get the new Airfix stuff in stock, mind you local MZ could be a little tardy at times.

As I was paying for my purchases the women behind the till commented on the fact that "they'd had more men in here recently", she wasn't aware (why should she have been) that MZ was shutting.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

My g/f and I regularly visit the local Hobbycraft store, not quite on first name terms with the staff yet. It is interesting to see the tools available throughout the store and the other items that can be used or have potential use for us modellers. I wonder if we can persuade them to stock some Evergreen items?

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

The one in Stockport does stock Evergreen, although it's a pretty small range.

No, but it demonstrates that they can get it if they want it. Makes asking them to stock it a better bet....

Croydon MZ has a "Last Few Days" sign up, the downstairs is closed and all that's left is upstairs, sad  :-\

Obvious question but can we confirm what shops are still open, where and how long they may have to go?
Aberdeen shop shut week back Thursday there, black armband on, wife overjoyed!! lol she wasn't really, but felt sorry for the staff. Think Glasgow sop closure is pending soon.
