And isn't the Revell kit actually better? Or is that bordering on a JMN attitude?  ;D

The Revell kit is indeed better, and no, I wouldn't say it was JMNish, more statement of fact.

Croydon branch has the Dragon Meteor F.3 for £12.50. Their stock of cheap F.1's have sold out

Croydon MZ has some very good deals on Academy stuff, most is not with my sphere of interest (Super Entendard, Bronco etc) but might be tempted by the Helldiver.

On the opposite side of the fence the Dragon Val is in stock at a whopping £34  :banghead: :banghead: Even the new tool Tamiya Zero comes in at under £20

Hull MZ also has the Academy stuff on sale.  The OV-10D Bronco is a steel at £3, I would have got one but already have it in the stash, shame they didn't have the OV-10A.  It's a lovely little kit, even if it looks a bit fiddly to build.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Oh, that I had an MZ within range............  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Had a raid on the Modelzones in the Trafford Centre and the middle of Manchester this morning. No Academy Broncos I'm sorry to report, but I did get the following:

4 x Revell 1/460th USS Long Beach kits for £5.00 each (RRP £17....)
3 x Academy 1/72nd M977 8x8 cargo trucks for £5.00 each.
1 x Airfix 1/72nd Strikemaster for £5.00.

Things I looked at but passed on:

Airfix Alpha Jets for £5.00
Airfix Hs-123s for £3.50
Cyber Hobby 1/700th Long Beachs, and the various LCS models for £12ish each
Revell 1/144th Type 209 subs for £5(?) each.

Went in yesterday, they seem to be having a summer sale.  They're still carrying on the low prices on the big scale stuff Academy plus quite a few dotted around the shop.

I picked up a Polar Lights 1/1000 Klingon D7 at £10, knocked down from £22.99.  They were at £13.99 a few weeks back, glad I waited.  I often look out for discounted sci-fi stuff as I think it's just too expensive but it's rare to see and this is the first kit I've bought.

Yup our local MZ (Croydon) has 50% off. Only problem is they block the dungeon off (where the kits are) you have to ask to go down  :banghead: I've given up and have writen to MZ HO

Been to both Trafford Centre and Manchester MZs in the last 24 hours, and not much new to be honest, although some things appear to have extra discount on them. A lot of the things discounted on the website either wern't there or were at full retail, and there were no sci-fi kits in the sale, except easykit Star Wars stuff.

Got a few:
Academy 1/72nd Super Etendard for £2.99
Revell 1/78th Rotodyne for £4.99
Airfix 1/100th minikit P-47D for £1.49 (present)
Revel 1/40th M-48 Bridging Tank for £4.99
